(RED) Wire is an electronic music magazine with a big heart. (RED) is a global effort to help victims of AIDS, particularly in Africa and Asia. Many companies have participated in the effort, such as GAP, Old Navy, etc. Now, this effort takes the form of electronic delivery. Each issue of this magazine brings you videos and music. Some famous authors participate in this effort by allowing the magazine to distribute the content. (RED) Wire is an Adobe AIR application, so it works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. The music magazine is a nice way of presenting content. (RED) Wire mainly brings video interviews, music videos and songs. Though not the commercial songs we hear all the time on the radio, this magazine brings songs that aim at uniting people and creating a sense of solidarity. If you have ever heard songs like "We are the world," you will know what I am talking about. You are shown a main front page which has all the content available. You can click on the images and the headlines to access the content. The videos can be played on full-screen and the sound quality is really good. The application also has a mini player to play the content on a small window. Now, (RED) Wire is not free - not the service, anyway. The money you pay for the magazines is supposedly used to help the (RED) effort. However, you get 2 free issues with a trial membership and you don't need a credit card to apply. However, you must be a citizen of one of the supported countries.
